King's College London
Founded in 1829 by King George IV and the Duke of Wellington, King's College London is ranked as one of the top 25 universities in the World. King's has played a major role in many advances that have shaped modern life, such as the discovery of the structure of DNA and boasts 9 Nobel Prize winners.
Strand Campus Frieze and Wayfinding Systems
Despite its prestigious standing, its physical presence was often missed. The Strand Campus was made up of an assemblage of different buildings along a 90m stretch of a busy London Street. Rather than put up additional signs, Whybrow Signing Consultants worked with graphic designers Atelier Works to implement an historical time frieze, encompassing the entire campus frontage - engaging with the public, encouraging a new crop of inspired students and celebrating nearly 180 years of achievement.
What they said
